The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority has recently published a guideline. Our team has made some remarks. It should be noted that there is no family approval in the approval process in Zambia.
- Similarity Approval
When the applicant submits an approval application for two or more technically similar models (i.e. with the same technical characteristics) but with different (trade) names and/or brands, in this case a single application can be requested in order to obtain a single ZICTA approval certificate for these product models; this is known as a similarity approval. It should be noted that this application applies to equipment that is technically similar (sharing the same PCB layout, schematics and Block Diagram, test instructions, etc.) and is always accompanied by a declaration of similarity issued by the manufacturer.
